Summary/Responsibilities of this position:
Central Market is seeking a Meat Cutter with availability to include days, evenings, and weekends to handle the freshest quality ingredients.

Business Unit/Department Mission: Receives, stores, grinds, cuts, wraps, and sells meat for new and existing retail customers by performing the following duties:

Duties of this position include:
- Unloading product from truck and transporting to storage area
- Ensures quality control of all product before sending to sales floor
- Maintains sanitation in the department
- Maintains organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in and production area
- Reads and executes daily production list
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages and volumes
- Provides customer service as required such as answering questions, taking orders on the phone
- Assists in monitoring the quality of goods and monitors shrink
- Orders and receives products and supplies
- Maintains transfer records
- Preps, wraps, prices, sells, and stocks products continuously
- Demos, or prepares customer samples for self-serve
- Provides superlative customers service
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Requirements:
- Must be familiar with over 100 cuts of meats.

- Unloads fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck and transports them to storage room.

- Counts and weighs incoming product and compares results against invoice.

- Examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging.

- Cuts meat into small pieces suitable for grinding, and grinds for use as hamburgers, meat loaf, and sausage.

- Also cuts specialty fresh cuts according to standards.

- Cleans grinder, meat containers, and storage room with water hose and broom.

- Provides internal customer service.

- Maintains sanitation in the department. 
- Typically requires 2-5 years of related experience.

- One year related experience or training required. 

-Function in a fast-paced, retail environment

- Lift 20 lbs or more on an occasional basis
